Ladies and Gentlemen,
It’s a great pleasure for me to stand here
for joining this speech contest. In this good occasion, I’d like to deliver a
speech with a title “How to protect
Indonesian children from drugs?”
Ladies and gentlemen,
First of all, let me show you something.
Please, have a look what I’m holding now.
What is this? Yes right, it’s candy.
Well, I think everybody including a little
child knows this little thing
How’s the taste? Yes, right. Sweet, nice, yummy, spicy.
There are various kinds of taste that make us
like them
Ladies and gentlemen, relating to this, have
you ever thought that the nice candy contains drugs inside? Surprised?
Well, In Mumbai, It’s reported that strawberry-flavored
candies sold at elementary schools or the kid school can change the
students’ habit. Besides temporarily
improving alertness, concentration and self-esteem, it also boosts libido. Some
students use it during examinations to improve their concentration, but end up
becoming addicts. As the result of a research, this addiction can happen
because drug substances are put into the candies. Wow, it’s really surprising,
right? Drug dealers have camouflaged the drugs as candies with strawberry,
chocolate or cola flavors among the kids or children. Just imagine if this
reality also happens to the children in our country. Naudhubillahi mindalik. We
don’t want this terrible even happen, right? So, how to protect Indonesian children
from such dangerous drugs, ladies and gentlemen?
Well, Love -Patience- Trust and a friendly
understanding are the clues to save
children from the dangers that prevail outside and nearby. Those things can be
obtained from family or home, school, and environment.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Good atmosphere at home is really needed to
realize this. Strong Family unit should be built up between parents and
children. Here, communication among family members is essential to keep the
children away from the polluted environment and negative forces outside the
homes. For example, while having meal or watching television together, parents
can use their time for understanding their children’s problems. At that moment,
Parents could be close friends in front of them so they will be able to express
whatever they experience in their life openly. Indirectly, parents could
monitor or control what and how their children do or with whom they get along out there.
If the relationship are maintained well, of course, the children will not look
for another comfort from another environment especially the bad one.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Besides , good atmosphere at school also
protects children from drugs. The actors playing the main role here are
teachers and developmental programs at school. Besides teaching materials,
teachers also have duties as co –parents, educating students to do the proper
things like never touching and consuming drugs. Of course, this duty is not only imposed for
the religion and moral science teachers, whoever the teachers are, they should join
school for drugs prevention or drug
expansion eradication. While teaching, it’s very essential to inculcate religion
with aims to improve personalities and to make them stronger. With the strong
faith, they will be far from bad things, like drugs.
The last
thing, a good society atmosphere also
gives the good impacts of conducive environment for youngster. Positive
activities held by society can also be an effective way to avoid doing negative
things like gathering with friends for drugs party .
Ladies and gentlemen,
For closing, let me take the conclusion of my
speech. To protect children from drugs “Love -Patience- Trust and a friendly
understanding” should be obtained from home or family, school, or society.
