In this great occasion, allow me to present speech with a subject : The role of E– learning in rush ours

Ladies and Gentlemen 

Internet has become one of important things in our life because there are many benefits gotten there. Its existence has mushroomed in this world so fast. This growth enables a range of different forms of interaction and means of information retrieval and knowledge sharing used in various fields including education. Here, we can improve the way of our thinking to use the internet as well as possible to facilitate our needs in a modern education one.  Related to this, many new methods of education for teaching and learning appear, one of them is “ e – learning “.

E- learning or electric learning is teaching and learning process which takes an advantage of computer technology and access to network resources. It can be carried out online or offline. At this time, the method of using e – learning is applied as one of the new methods of teaching and learning in many countries. One of the users is our country, Indonesia.

Ladies and Gentlemen 

By applying this teaching and learning method, it’s expected by the government that there will be improvement of Indonesian students’ quality. With this way, students or learners and the teachers become easier to get the reference of the materials for teaching and learning. The teaching and learning with this way can be delivered in two forms, namely one way communication and two way one. Besides that, there are also a formal and an informal education there.

The formal education of e- learning is teaching and learning process by using curriculum, syllabus, lesson, and the test which has been agreed between the learners and the teacher together and arranged based on the schedule.

But for the informal one, the teaching and learning can be delivered by using mailing list, personal website and so forth

Ladies and Gentlemen 

With regarding to the system of the teaching and learning, we can see that many benefits can be obtained  especially when it’s applied in this era. Let’s see the fact at this time, many people including lecturers and their students have some obligations to satisfy the claim of this life’s needs. So, it’s not strange anymore if we find some lecturers have to work while running a business, the students of university have to work while studying. They, sometimes, must do the two jobs at the same time. For the lecturers, they have two choices: teaching students or running business? For the students, they have two options: working or studying? As the consequence, the probable thing happening is that they must leave one of the choices. The leacturers may like running a business better than teaching, because it gives much more benefits. The students probably prefer working to studying. As the result of this, teaching and learning activity become number two after the other more advantegeous one, running business or working. In fact that they actually want to get involved in teaching and learning in a class as well, because developing knowledge can also be obtained from this way. In other words, education is also important to possess.

Ladies and Gentlemen 

Based on the fact, it’s necessary to use the alternative method of teaching and learning.  That’s E-learning. Once again, E-learning like what I said before.. I think it becomes the marvelous solution for this complicated life’s claims. In such rush hours,  the global era challenge and demand them to be a productive man.

E-learning allows students to get lectures like a formal learning obtained as usual in a classroom. The difference is that the lecturers and students don’t need to meet face to face. We call this as long distance learning.

By doing e – learning, they can study everywhere and every time. This learning can be done in their spare time because the teaching and learning or handouts have been recorded in a CD or DVD, so those delivered in the class as formally can be reviewed by the students until they get really more clear explanation on the other place like home. The CD or DVD will make them easier to bring. Instead e – learning can help the learners make the target for graduating becomes shorter and thrifty of fee. On the other side, the lecturers can run their business without leaving their obligation in teaching.

Based on this fact, it’s obvious that we need e- learning so much.

Ladies and Gentlemen 

To end this speech, let me take the points of my speech that e – learning is very helpful method of teaching and learning, especially for university students and lecturers. It has a main role in their rush hours to be productive man with high intelligence. Besides, they can also increase their ability on science.
